Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was awarded “Lifetime Contribution for Women Empowerment Award” on Thursday on the occasion of International Women's Day in Berlin.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Germany Imtiaz Ahmed received the award given by the Institute of South Asian Women, an official release said.

State minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali, among others, was present at the award giving ceremony.

Hasina won the award for her outstanding contribution to the field of women empowerment as well as her dynamic leadership in the South Asian region.
