Beyond This Universe
Let me ask you – are you familiar?
With that kind of happiness that flows down in tears?
With that sensation of butterflies in your stomach,
When someone is near?
'Cause that's what you make me feel,
My world turns into a dreamy reel,
My spirit lifts up so I write a verse,
'Bout a feeling, that's beyond this universe.
Sure, it wasn't supposed to happen,
Love ain't no bed of roses that I intended on lyin',
You came in like a winter breeze and lasted longer than November Rain,
Your hands touched mine as we hopped onto the lovers' train.
And that's when I realised,
The fear of falling, I couldn't see anymore in your eyes,
My spirit lifted up, so I started writing a verse,
'Bout a feeling, that's beyond this universe.
The memory of our very first, still clear as a day,
We were two floating souls, wandering across the bay,
Struggling to fit in, within the mould,
Gasping for life, searching for our different worlds.
But that's when we figured out,
We have found each other, among the crowd
With a straight face, I finally finish this verse,
'Bout a feeling, that's beyond this universe.
