Actor Chinmoy Roy passes away

Veteran actor Chinmoy Roy breathed his last at the age of 79 on last Sunday night at his home in Salt Lake residence. The actor died of cardiac arrest.

Last year, he had an accident around June at his own residence, and had been unwell since then.

Renowned personalities including Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, and

actor Soumitra Chatterjee, among others, expressed their deepest condolences upon his death.

His family informed that his body was taken to his previous home Golf Green and Tollywood Film Society yesterday. It was then finally taken to Nimtala Crematorium for the last rites.

Chinmoy Roy was born in Kumilla, Bangladesh in 1940. He was known for his roles in the films Charmurti, Basanta Bilap, Nanigopaler Biye, and Golpo Holeo Shotti, among others.
