Youth Fest season 3 concludes
Youth Festival Season 3, one of the most anticipated events of the year was organised on the campus of St Joseph Higher Secondary School from March 7 - 9. The inauguration ceremony was graced by prominent actor Jitu Ahsan as the chief guest. He, along with the Principal of the institution, Brother Robi Theodore and the Chief Moderator of the club, Shahana Nasreen, welcomed the participants to the Youth Fest this year. Over 2000 students from 25 institutions across the country, came together to make this fest a huge success. Josephite Cultural Forum conducted a wide range of events for the young participants. Recitations, rhymes, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet, folk songs, contemporary songs, along with different categories of dance were a part of the colourful presentation.
This year they also arranged a signature event - The Grand Fashion Show, on its second day. Many teams comprising of young designers and make-up artists from reputed schools of the city, competed against each other. With classical songs playing in the background, along with the exquisite display of artworks, the Youth Fest brought together many artists under one roof. "I am excited to be here today. This fest has something for each one of us. I thoroughly enjoyed the Rabindra Sangeet. The new artists have added their own zest to his legendary tunes" said an enthusiastic participant. The closing ceremony was chaired by renowned actor Chanchal Chowdhury and Brindabon Das. "This event has been successful in bringing out some talented young people into the field of music and art. I am delighted to be a part of this Youth Fest. Congratulations to all the winners," Chanchal Chowdhury said while handing out the prizes. Brindabon Das appreciated the efforts of the club members and said, "It felt wonderful seeing the children in colourful attire running across the stage. I anticipate more fests like this in the near future. This is an amazing initiative by these young minds."
"It was wonderful organising a fest like this for the youth. The response we have received is overwhelming. We extend our gratitude to all the guests and participants for their interest in our fest. We will be back next year with another version, 4.0," said the club's Joint Secretary, Susmit Paul Durjoy.
