Jet Airways suspends flight to Dhaka, 12 other int’l routes
India's financial crisis-hit Jet Airways has suspended flight operations to 13 more international destinations, including Dhaka, till this month-end.
Besides, the airways scaled down frequencies on seven other overseas routes, mostly from Delhi and Mumbai, PTI reported today quoting sources in the airline.
There is, however, no official communication from the airlines on the issue, our correspondent reports quoting the PTI report.
Jet has discontinued services from Delhi to Dhaka (eleven per week), to Abu Dhabi (nine in a week), Dammam (14 weekly), Hong Kong and Riyadh (seven each in a week) up to April 30, said PTI.
The Kolkata-Dhaka services have also been suspended till April 30, they added.
In addition to this, services from Delhi and Mumbai to Kathmandu, Bangkok, Doha, Kuwait and Singapore have been also scaled down.
Jet Airways, battling severe crash crunch, has reduced its operations to one-fourth from over 600 daily flights earlier with just one-third of its fleet of 119 aircraft being operational. The airline is defaulting on interest payments and delaying salaries to pilots.
