Man dies in Noakhali plastic factory fire

A man died and three others were injured in a fire at a plastic factory in Senbagh upazila of Noakhali last night.

The deceased was identified as Ismail Hossain, 30, hailing from Mannannagar Chowrasta area of Noakhali sadar upazilla.

The fire originated at “Pushpita Plastic and Ribbon” in Mohammadpur union, locals said.Ismail died while sleeping in the factory, our Noakhali correspondent reports quoting locals.

On information, firefighters from Chowmohoni Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and douse the fire.

Three persons -- Keshob Chakraborty, Dilip Chakraborty and Hridoy Chandra Debnath– sustained injuries while dousing the fire. They were sent to Noakhali General Hospital for treatment.

The owner of the factory has been asked for the authorization papers of the factory, said Md Mijanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Senbagh Police Station.
