Death of Abrar: Suprobhat bus conductor confesses
The conductor of Suprobhat Paribahan today confessed to a magistrate that he was driving the bus, ran over and killed university student Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury on March 19.
“I was driving the bus following instruction of its owner as the driver Mohammad Sirajul Islam was caught by the passengers and handed him over to police after he had hit and injured a college girl in Banshtala area of Shahjadpur the same day,” said Yasin Arafat.
After the first accident, Yasin informed the owner of the bus and what would he do. In reply, the owner asked him to flee away from there with the bus. Following the instruction, he (Yasin) fled the scene to skip mass beating and arson.
He also said he ran over and killed the student Abrar, a first-year honours student at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), near the Bashundhara Residential Area around 7:30am on March 19.
