Ershad reinstates GM Quader

Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad today reinstated his younger brother GM Quader as co-chairman of the party.

Ershad, known as an unpredictable character in the country’s political arena, made the decision this evening, just 12 days after GM Quader was removed from the same post.

As per section 20(1) Ka of the party’s charter, Ershad appointed Quader as the his party's co-chairman and the dicision will be effective from today, Ershad said in a statement.

Enter Raushan, exit GM Quader

Earlier, Ershad nominated his wife Raushan Ershad for deputy leader of the opposition, removing GM Quader from the post on March 23 this year.

Ershed also leader of the opposition, in another statement issued on the same day, said he removed Quader from the parliamentary post as per section 20/1/Ka of the party charter.

The section stipulates that the JP chairman can make any party decision on his own.
