10-day remand sought for two owners

Chawkbazar police yesterday sought 10-day remand for quizzing owners of Wahed Mansion -- from where the deadly Chawkbazar fire originated -- in a case filed over the deaths of 70 people.

Md Muradul Islam, investigation officer of the case, submitted the remand prayer for Md Hasan and Sohel alias Shahid, sons of Haji Abdul Wahed.

The duo was sent to jail on April 2 after surrendering before a Dhaka court.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Kaisarul Islam set April 8 for hearing on the prayer in presence of the accused.
