PM shocked at damage to Cathedral of Notre Dame
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock at the damage to the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris.
“We are terrible shocked and deeply saddened at the colossal damage to the Cathedral Notre Dame due to catastrophic fire,” she said in a message to President of France Emmanuel Macron.
The damage to this iconic Cathedral is most tragic and heart wrenching for not only the people of France but for the entire humanity. “We share the pain and grief of the French people,” Hasina said.
“With a deep sense of loss and grief I, on behalf of the people and government of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, convey our profound sadness to you and to the people of France,” reads the message to President Emmanuel Macron.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of France,” according to the message issued by the Foreign Ministry today.
A massive fire consumed Notre-Dame Cathedral on Monday, gutting the roof of the Paris landmark and stunning France and the world, though firefighters saved the main bell towers and outer walls from collapse before bringing the blaze under control.
