No fireworks on Shab-e-Barat: DMP

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) imposed a bar on carrying of all types of explosives, crackers as well as explosion of firecrackers in the capital on the occasion of holy Shab-e-Barat to be observed tomorrow night.

As per instruction from DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia, the restriction will come into force from 6:00pm tomorrow (Sunday) to 6:00am the next day (Monday), said Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of DMP.

 The decision was taken under Section 28 of the DMP Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance-1976 (Ord. No. III of 1976), he said.

The decision was taken to maintain the sanctity of Shab-e-Barat, he added.
