Satyajit Ray’s 5 unpublished works to be published
Five hitherto unpublished works of the maestro director and writer Satyajit Ray will be brought out from next year.
The titles mainly comprise unpublished essays and illustrations by Ray, our New Delhi correspondent reports quoting a statement published by Penguin Random House India publishing company.
"Translations of Ray's", "Tarini Khuro" and many of his illustrated works, which remain unseen to this date, are also among them," it said.
The works will be published by Penguin Random House India under the aegis of The Penguin Ray Library. "The Penguin Ray Library will give his works a unique look. The new titles will be presented in a special layout with quintessential aesthetics inspired by Ray's sensibilities," the statement said.
Ray, the creator of detective "Feluda" and scientist "Professor Shonku", has penned several short stories and novels.
Ray's son Sandip Ray, member Secretary of the Satyajit Ray Society, said "We are excited to be a part of vision that Penguin Random House has for perpetuating Ray's luminous legacy."
Penguin is also collaborating with the Society to be a part of the annual lecture that is held in Ray's memory each year. This year, the lecture was delivered by veteran director Tarun Majumdar in Kolkata on last Saturday.
