What inspired you to get into music?

My love and passion for music is what inspired me. I never thought that I would be recognized as a singer and never thought about fame when it came to music. I always loved singing and playing music from the bottom of my heart. At every chance that I got, I would play music. I also had a habit of writing small poems, so I combined my love of music with my poetry and managed to come up with my songs.

Did you have any mentors?

Everyone in life has a particular person as an inspiration or mentor who helps them, guides them to prosperity; in contrast I never had any mentor or guide, but I have learnt from my friends, a few senior musicians, my sister and her teacher. I have learnt a lot that way.

What instruments do you play?

I play the guitar. However, I would not call myself a guitarist, but I can play guitar to the limit that it can support my songs.

Do you have any upcoming projects?

I have a few plans. I plan on releasing a minimum of one or two solo songs within this year, and a song with Yaatri, my band. This is my plan at the moment, but there might be other projects as well.

What qualities does an aspiring musician require?

Individuality and commitment make a musician. I think an aspiring musician needs to be honest and very much in love with music. An aspiring musician also requires a unique identity, be it through their voice or their creations.

What is the life of a musician like?

I see music as an escape from my regular day to day responsibilities. It gives me peace of mind. I may not be good at talking, but I can express my emotions very well through my songs. My breathing space and getaway from reality would be my time with music. I think a musician should be very humble and down to earth, and polite with other people.

Do you have any message for our readers?

I would ask everyone to keep loving and inspiring me to make music for all of you. I would also like to ask everyone to pray for me so that I can keep on singing for you for the rest of my life.
