Water vessel services resume
Inland water vessel services across the country resumed this morning three days after Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) suspended the operation due to bad weather under the influence of cyclone Fani.
The services resumed from 7:00am as the weather condition is now normal, BIWTA Secretary Kazi Wakil Nawaz told The Daily Star.

Water transports countrywide were suspended last Thursday in advent of the very severe cyclonic storm Fani. It was causing rough tides on rivers and seas.
The very severe cyclone entered Bangladesh yesterday morning with wind speeds of 50-60kmph, and took around 10 hours to cross the country through Khulna and Rajshahi regions before heading towards Assam of India.
After Fani crossed the country, Bangladesh Meteorological Department has withdrawn all the cautionary signals.
