82.2% pass SSC and equivalents

This year 82.20 per cent of the appearing students passed Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examinations, says the result published today.

The pass rate, for 10 education boards, was higher compared to last year’s 77.770 per cent. Number of GPA 5 achievers came down to 1,05,594.

Last year, the cumulative GPA 5 achievers stood at 1,10,629.

Education Minister Dipu Moni announced the results this morning at International Mother Language Institute after the results were handed to her.

Usually the announcement comes from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, but this time she is abroad. Education Minister Moni announced the result instead.

RESULTS IN DETAILS

Under the eight education boards, the total pass rate was 82.8 per cent, higher compared to what was 79.80 per cent, result statistics show.

GPA 5 achievers in these eight boards amounted to 94,556, which was lower in comparison to last year’s 1,02,845.

Pass rate in the madrassa board stood at 83.03 per cent. That of the technical and vocational board registered at 72.24 per cent.
