Mild heat wave likely to abate
The mild heat wave sweeping over some parts of the country may abate at some places as rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at several places today.
“Mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the regions of Tangail, Madaripur, Noakhali, Rangamati, Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Pabna, Barishal and Patuakhali and it may abate at some places”, said a met office bulletin issued here this morning.
Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is also likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Khulna division and the regions of Cumilla, Noakhali and Rangamati, it said.
The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today, with a nearly unchanged day and night temperature, it added.
The highest temperature on Monday was recorded 37.6 degrees Celsius in Mongla and Jashore under Khulna division, while today’s minimum temperature is 21.6 degrees Celsius in Mymensingh.
The sun sets at 6:37 pm today and rises at 5:13 am tomorrow in the capital.
