Mild heat wave likely to spread
Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted mild heat wave sweeping over some places to spread.
"Mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Khulna, Kushtia and Mongla and it may spread", said a met office bulletin released today.
It also stated that the day temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.
"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions.
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country", it added.
The highest temperature on Tuesday was recorded 37.5 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and Chuadanga in Khulna and today's minimum temperature was recorded 22.0 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat in Rangpur.
The sun sets at 6:40pm today and rises at 5:12am tomorrow in the capital.
