Dakhil examinee murdered in Jashore

A Dakhil examinee was stabbed to death by some miscreants in Sadar upazila of Jashore last night.

The victim was identified as Sajib Hossain Samrat, 16, son of Md Tajuddin from the upazila and a Dakhil examinee of Shah Waliullah Dakhil Madrassah, our Benapole correspondent reports.

Samrat was stabbed when he was going to Jashore town at around 5:30pm yesterday, Shahnaz Begum, mother of the victim told The Daily Star.

He succumbed around 11:00pm while he was being taken to Dhaka for better treatment after receiving primary treatment at Jashore General Hospital, she said.

Police are suspecting the student was killed for some personal reasons, Apurba Hasan, officer in-charge of Jashore Kotwali Police Station, told our correspondent.

They are trying to detain the miscreants, he said.
