Ershad’s condition improved slightly: GM Quader

The health condition of ailing Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad, who is undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka, has improved slightly.

“If his improvement trend continues for next two or three days, the Jatiya Party chairman will recover speedily,” said GM Quader, also acting chair of the party.

Quader said this while speaking at a press conference at the JP chairman’s Banani office in the capital.

“While visiting my brother at the hospital around 11:00am, I touched his forehead and he (Ershad) opened eyes and heard what I told him,” said Quader, also the party’s acting chairman.

He urged the country’s people to pray for Ershad’s quick recovery.

Ershad, also the opposition leader, was given oxygen support as his health condition deteriorated on Sunday.

He was admitted to the CMH on June 27 and being treated there for several infections.

Over the last nine months, the former military ruler has been suffering from various health-related issues.
