Mother, son found dead in Magura
Police recovered the throat-slit bodies of a woman and her infant son from their house in Magura Sadar upazila today.
The deceased were identified as Punya, 25, and her 10-month-old son Manab, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo quoting police.
The woman’s husband, Bittu Majumder, was also found in critical condition with a cut in his throat, and has been admitted to Magura 250 Bed Hospital, said Khan Md Rezwan, superintendent of police in Magura.
Police suspects that Bittu might have killed his wife and son, then tried to commit suicide, the SP.
Police went to the house in Parnanduali Mistripara area around 11:00am after locals noticed “something unusual” about the house this morning and informed the law enforcers, he also said.
Inside the house, police found the two dead bodies and injured Bittu lying beside a sharp weapon, the SP added.
According to Bittu’s uncle Shuvash and cousin Shwapan, the couple had conjugal feud as Bittu’s family did not accept Punya since she was from a Muslim family.
The bodies were sent to Magura 250 Bed Hospital for autopsy.
