Bus operators asked to use mosquito spray during Eid journey
The bus owners’ association today asked all the bus operators to use mosquito spray inside their vehicle before leaving Dhaka with Eid holidaymakers.
The announcement came from a joint meeting between the bus owners and workers association held at the central office of Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association in the capital this afternoon.
“All bus operators will have to use mosquito spray inside their vehicles to control the recent Dengue outbreak before they left Dhaka during the journey of Eid-ul-Azha,” Khondaker Enayet Ullah, general secretary of the association, said in the meeting.
The leaders of the bus owners and workers association were asked to buy four fogger machines by tomorrow and spray medicine in Mohakhali, Sayedabad, Gulistan and Fulbaria bus terminals to kill mosquitoes and destroy its larva.
They were also advised to keep all the four terminals neat and clean to protect passengers from the mosquito-borne deadly decease.
Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of Muslims, will be celebrated across the country on August 12 this year.
Every year, tens of thousands of people leave the capital Dhaka to celebrate the Eid with near and dear ones at their village homes.
