Couple stabbed dead in Gazipur

A couple was stabbed to death at their own house by unidentified miscreants in Basugaon area under Gazipur City Corporation area anytime last night.

The victims were identified as Abul Kalam, 40, and his wife Putul Begum, 28, our Gazipur correspondent reports.

The couple was killed when they were asleep, said Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan, office-in-charge (OC) of Pubail Police Station.

Information by locals, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College Hospital in Gazipur for autopsy this morning, he said.

Police are investigating the killings, he added.
