CU halls to come under CCTV surveillance
Chittagong University authority has decided to install CCTV cameras at all its 12 halls of the university in a bid to ensure safety and security of the residential students.
The university authority took the decision during a meeting of provost committee CU acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Shireen Akhter in the chair, said Hanif Miah, assistant proctor of the CU.
During the meeting, the provosts of all halls were asked to stay on the university campus for full time so that they can find out problems of the residential students, he added.
Talking to The Daily Star, the CU VC said that the CCTV installation efforts is an initiative to ensure overall security of the residential students and to avoid any unwanted incidents.
