Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan will brief media on November 20 about the outcome of the investigation into fatal train crash in Brahmanbaria’s Kasba, which left 18 people dead and scores injured on November 12.

“I have received reports of two probe committees today. The railway minister will brief media about the probe reports at 3:00pm on Wednesday (November 20),” Railways Secretary Mofazzel Hossain told The Daily Star today.

He, however, declined to disclose the content of the probe reports.

A five-member body led by Nasir Uddin, divisional transport officer (Chattogram), submitted to Divisional Railway Manager (Chattogram) on Friday.

Another four-member probe committee led by Rafiqul Islam, additional secretary of the ministry, submitted its report to the ministry yesterday.

At least 16 passengers died and score other injured as Dhaka-bound Turna Nishita Express rammed Chattogram-bound Udayan Express from Sylhet at Mandobagh Railway Station in Kasba on November 12.

Two people, who were injured, died in Dhaka and Sylhet yesterday, rising the death toll to 18.

A total of five committees were formed to investigate the deadly accident.
