JS body formed to investigate irregularities in Faridpur hospital
A parliamentary body today formed a sub-committee to investigate the alleged widespread corruption and irregularities in purchasing medical and other equipment in Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare Ministry formed four-member sub-committee headed by ruling Awami League lawmaker Muhibur Rahman Manik, a member of the parliamentary watchdog.
Other members of the sub-committee are former Health Minister AFM Ruhul Haque, Md Abdul Aziz and Zakia Noor.
Referring to the alleged corruption in Faridpur Medical College Hospital, Jatiya Party MP Pir Fazlur Rahman, on September 9 this year, said Tk 37.5 lakh was shown as the price of a bed screen, while Tk 5.27 crore was shown as the price of an oxygen generating plant.
