'Drug dealer' killed in Khilkhet 'shootout'
A suspected drug dealer was killed in what law enforcers said was a shootout in Khilkhet of Dhaka early today.
The deceased, Mizanur Rahman Mintu, 34, alias Megha Mintu, was accused in at least 12 murder, arms and drug related cases, Md Kamruzzaman, an assistant director of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab)-1, told The Daily Star.
Mintu is hailed from Bakerganj, Barishal, and used to live in Dhaka since 2010, the Rab official said.
The shootout took place between a group of drug dealers and Rab team in Swadesh Property area around 1:15am, he said.
A Rab member was injured in the firing.
Three fire arms, cartage and huge number of yaba tablets were recovered from the spot, Rab said.
