25 injured in Kushtia AL infighting
At least 25 people were injured in a clash between two groups of ruling Awami League in Khoksa upazila of Kushtia this morning.
The clash took place centring a trivial matter during a council of Khoksa upazila AL unit around 10:00am, our Kushtia correspondent reports.
The clash ensued between two groups led by Kushtia District AL unit President Sadar Uddin Khan and AL lawmaker (Kushtia-4 constituency) Selim Altaf George.
At least 15 injured are undergoing treatment at Khoksa Upazila Health Complex while others took primary treatment, the correspondent said.
Among the injured, Khoksa upazila Krishak League unit president Shahidul Islam and Sadar Uddin’s nephew Robin Uddin were admitted to the hospital.
Additional Superintendent of Police Nurani Ferdausi said, “We are trying to control the situation in the area”.
The clash is continuing till last reported.
