9 Buet students suspended over ragging at dorms
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) authorities today suspended nine students for their involvement in ragging at Suhrawardy and Ahsan Ullah halls.
Board of Residence and Discipline of Buet took the decision following reports of the probe body formed by the university in light of students’ demand, said a press release.
The suspended students are Soumyasachi Das Dibya, Somitra Lahiri, Plabon Chowdhury, Nahid Ahmed, Arnab Chowdhury, MD Forhad Hossain, Mobassher Hossen Shanto, ASM Mahadi Hasan and Akib Hasan Rafin.
They were suspended for different terms. Six of them were resident students of Ahsan Ullah hall while three of Suhrawardy hall, the press release reads.
The Board of Residence and Discipline also suspended them from their respective dormitories, it added.
Besides, the board also suspended 21 other students from their respective halls for different terms on the same ground.
