Turkey Coast Guard chief meets Bangladesh counterpart

Turkey Coast Guard Command Rear Admiral (LH) Ahmet Kendir today called on Director General of Bangladesh Coast Guard Rear Admiral M Ashraful Haq at the latter’s office in the city’s Agargaon area.

During the bilateral meeting, they discussed about training and improvement of mutual cooperation to develop professional skills of the force members of both countries, said a press release.

Before that, the Turkey Coast Guard chief paid homage by placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi, it added. 

Earlier, Real Admiral Ahemt Kendir who led a four-member delegation, was given with a warm reception after they landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday night.

During the four-day visit, he will also hold meetings with home minister and chief of naval staff, the press release said.

The Turkish delegation will visit various historical sites, National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar, Garment Industry, Sonargaon Folk and Crafts Museum and Panam Nagar.

The visit is expected to play a leading role in the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, the release said.
