IUB students win best poster paper award

EEE students Laboni Sarker and Safia Rahman received Best Poster Paper Award at the National Conference on Electronics and Informatics, organised by Bangladesh Society of Electronics and Informatics. The conference was held over December 4-5, 2019, at the Atomic Energy Center and the chief guest was Arch. Yeafesh Osman, Minister of Science and Technology.

Their paper was titled "The Undocumented Electric Vehicles of Bangladesh" and their faculty advisor was Prof. Shahriar Khan of the EEE department. The students received much encouragement to continue their research into the successful and sustainable electric vehicle (EV) industry in Bangladesh. This rapid success of EVs in our own local market, is in the backdrop of high prices and many obstacles facing the electric vehicle industry (Tesla, etc.) in developed countries such as the USA. The local EVs are another example where Bangladesh has developed its own solutions to its market requirements, rather than wait for solutions developed abroad.
