Arrest warrants issued for 8 Mymensingh ‘war criminals’
A tribunal in Dhaka issued arrest warrants against eight war crimes suspects of Mymensingh for their alleged involvement in crimes against humanity committed during the country’s Liberation War in 1971.
The International Crimes Tribunal-1 led by Justice Md Shahinur Islam issued the warrant in response to a petition filed by the prosecution seeking arrest order for them.
Prosecutor Mohammad Ali, who moved the petition, told The Daily Star that the eight suspects were involved with the activities of Razakar Bahini and Al-Badr Bahini, which were auxiliary forces of then Pakistani army, in 1971 war.
Investigators found evidences against the eight suspects. So, prosecution sought arrest order for them, Ali said.
