“I want to take up some exciting projects this year” – Apu Biswas
Apu Biswas, one of the most prominent actors in the film industry, has many hits under her belt. This year, she will be featured in a broad range of movies. In a candid chat with The Daily Star, the actor talks about her upcoming projects and more.
You have been away from the film industry for a while. Is there a particular reason behind this decision?
Honestly, I took a break from films, but I feel that I never really went away. I am preparing to face the camera once again. I am trying to be fitter, so, I have been going to the gym regularly. I hope that my hard work pays off, and I can make a striking comeback.
Shoshurbari Zindabad 2, which features you and Bappy was supposed to release during Durga Puja, but the release was postponed. Are there any updates on that project?
As far as I know, Shoshurbari Zindabad 2, directed by Debasish Biswas, will be released sometime this year.
Tell us a little about your upcoming projects in Kolkata.
I have teamed up with director Shubir Mandol for the film Shortcut, written by Nachiketa. We have finished shooting for the film.
You have also made your mark in the field of dance. What do you enjoy the most about dancing?
Dance is my passion, and I absolutely love performing in front of the audience.
What are your career plans for the New Year?
Apart from working on my fitness, I want to take up some exciting projects this year.
