Bangladesh Sangskritik Utshab 2020
The ‘Bangladesh Sangskritik Utshab 2020’ is in full swing at Nandan Mancha of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The 21-day grand festival features traditional folk-plays, songs, dances, instrumental musical performances, ‘jatrapala’, acrobatics, puppet shows and recitations, among other things. Over 5 thousand artistes from 64 districts of Bangladesh, along with a hundred cultural organisations are participating in it. Folk artistes from three districts are presenting different aspects of Bangladesh’s culture every day. Artistes from Rajshahi, Cummilla, Joypurhat, Kurigram, Meherpur, Kushtia, Jamalpur, Panchagarh, Sirajganj, Rajbari, Moulvibazar, Bogura, Patuakhali, Bandarban and Narsingdi showcased the distinctive cultural prowess of their own districts from January 4 to 8. They staged several traditional folk plays, including ‘Alkaap’, ‘Kushan Pala’, ‘Poddar Nachon’, ‘Gunai Bibir Pala’, and ‘Royani’.
