Case filed for raping 14-year-old in Gazipur

A case was filed this morning in connection with the rape of a 14-year-old in Shreepur upazila of Gazipur.

Law enforcers are trying to nab Akhter Hossain (35), sole accused in the case and currently on the run, our Gazipur correspondent reports quoting police.

Akhter, from Chauban area in the upazila, took his neighbour’s daughter to his house yesterday afternoon, said Sub-inspector (SI) Md Asrafullah of Shreepur Police Station.

Tying her up, Akhter raped the girl, the police official said quoting case statement.

Family members and other neighbours rushed in, hearing screams of the girl as soon as she was released from the alleged rapist, the SI said.

They found the girl bleeding and rushed to her to Shreepur Upazila Health Complex immediately, the police official said.

In the meantime, Akhter managed to flee the spot, he added.

Father of the victim filed the case this morning, Asrafullah said.
