10 positive habits that can bring a change to your life
It is quite often that we get so much caught up in everyday activities that we are distracted from thinking about developing little positive habits that could make a difference, changing our lives towards a better one.
In reply to a question asked in Quora.com, Sarah Chen Lin, a marketing and branding strategist, comes up with these 10 positive habits that could change your lives, reports Time.
1. Trust karma
But when you do something good, be genuine to it and do it from your heart, without the expectation that something good will happen to you too in future.
2. Volunteer
Volunteering to various humane causes might change the course of lives of many more than you could possibly imagine.
3. Embrace your emotions
Embrace what you feel—happiness, fear, sorrow, anger, disappointment, jealousy, passion, love... the full spectrum, without hurting others. We are meant to feel these emotions as they make us more humble, accepting, patient, and human.
4. Count your blessings every single day
Always remember that there is someone out there in more distress than you are, so without pitying yourself and taking anything for granted, pick yourself up and wake up the fighter inside you.
5. Cherish every moment with loved ones
Tell your parents, siblings, and loved ones that you love them as often as you can, and cherish every moment you spend with them. There are many in the world who have lost their loved ones without having the chance to say “I love you” one last time, and scars like that takes a long time to heal.
6. Judge less, accept more
Always keep in mind that no one is perfect, and we all have a story to tell, a battle of our own to fight for, that no one else knows about. This will help you to tame your temper.
7. Meditate
You will be more in tune with your body and would learn to take care of yourself emotionally, mentally and physically once you have learnt to meditate properly.
8. Make lists
Always making to-do lists helps you to remember more and gain more confidence, making you more organised and focused.
9. Find an outlet to release your emotions
Our body is a medium, a vessel, which can handle emotions up to a certain extent. It is as to release your emotions as it is to embrace them. Finding an outlet to release your emotions, such as writing in a diary, listening to music, singing, dancing, sketching, and may else, can help you use the emotions constructively.
10. Follow your heart but take your head with you
Always ask yourself twice before making a decision to make sure it is a rational one besides being what your heart desires. Do not waste time on mistakes that you could have easily prevented by thinking twice and having an honest conversation with yourself.
