Ex-AL leader murdered in Noakhali

A former leader of Awami League was murdered in Companiganj upazila of Noakhali last night.

The deceased, Sohrab Hossain, 50, was a former president of Char Elahi Union Parishad’s Char Balua area (ward no-6) in the upazila, reports our Noakhali correspondent.

Md Abdur Razzak, chairman of Char Elahi union, said miscreants beat up Sohrab and then slit his throat when he was returning home after attending a party.

On information, police recovered the body from Char Balua area and sent it to the Noakhali General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Contacted, Officer-In-Charge of Companiganj Police Station Md Rabiul Hossain said police are trying to identify the killers.
