Bangladesh women's T20 team captain Salma Khatun said that her side will take inspiration from the success of the Bangladesh U-19s' World Cup win last month.

The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2020 was officially up and running as all the 10 skippers gathered for the captain's media launch on Monday at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney. According to ICC, a world record attendance for a women's sport fixture could be set when the final is held on 8 March in Melbourne – International Women's Day – with those at the helm desperate to take their country to the MCG.

Speaking during the captains' meet Salma spoke about her team.

"The Asia Cup was a great experience, but the focus is now on the World Cup. We want to be focusing on New Zealand and Australia. Our U19 side won the World Cup recently and we are looking forward to getting started."

The Bangladesh women's cricket team were named in Group A for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup against hosts Australia, India, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. The tournament is scheduled to begin from February 21. The Tigresses are scheduled to play Pakistan in their second warm-up match on February 20 before taking on India in their opening World Cup fixture on February 24th.
