Bangladesh score 240 for three before stumps
Considerably a good day for Bangladesh as the Tigers managed to score 240 runs for the loss of three wickets before stumps after bundling out Zimbabwe for 265 early on the second day of the lone Test between the two sides at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.
Opener Tamim Iqbal gave a good start to the Tigers as the left-hander strung a 78-run stand with Nazmul Hossain Shanto after Saif Hasan departed early. Tamim fell in the 30th over after scoring 41 but Shanto went on to pick up his fifty. However, Shanto too fell in the 50th over after a 139-ball 79 and a 76-run stand with skipper Mominul Haque. After that, Mominul and Mushfiqur batted through the day with the former remaining unbeaten on 79 and Mushfiqur remaining unbeaten on 32.
Earlier, Abu Jayed and Taijul Islam picked up two wickets each on the day to get Zimbabwe bundled out for a modest score after the visitors started the day at 228 for six.

Shanto departs after scoring 71

A short delivery from Charlton that was angling away from Nazmul Hossain Shanto gets the better of the ledt-hander. Nazmul decides to have a poke at it ends up edging it to the wicketkeeper. Tshuma will remember this wicket as he gets his first ever Test scalp on debut.

Bangladesh skipper Mominul Haque guides a Nyauchi delivery past the diving gully fielder for a boundary. It also brings up the fifty-run stand between Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul.
Bangladesh 120 for two at Tea
Tea: After Lunch, the duo of Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Tamim Iqbal were looking exquisite. However, the one wicket that fell on the session was that of Tamim when he was dismissed off a Donald Tiripano delivery in the 30th over after scoring an 89-ball 41. Tamim looked to be in fine touch before that as the left-hander smashed seven boundaries. Shanto however picked up his fifty in the session as Bangladesh go for Tea with 120 for two on the board after 38 overs.

Nazmul Hossain Shanto punches a Sikandar Raza delivery wide of cover and takes a quick single that brings up his fifty. Not much of a celebration from the left-hander as there is still a long way to go for the Tigers.
Tamim departs after scoring 41

A good length delivery from Tiripano which was angling in towards Tamim Iqbal gets the better of the left-hander. He gets a feather edge off the inside of the bat and the wicketkeeper does the rest. Tamim walks out after a promising 89-ball 41.
Exquisite Tamim stars in fifty-run stand with Shanto

Nazmul Hossain Shanto flicks a Sikandar Raza delivery off his pads and takes a double. That brings up the fifty-run stand between Tamim Iqbal and Nazmul off 93 deliveries. Bangladesh star opener Tamim in particular looked exquisite ever since the Tigers came back to bat after Lunch. The left-hander smashed some excellent boundaries as he looked to be getting in the groove for a big score.
Bangladesh 25 for one at Lunch
Lunch: The umpires call for Lunch on Day 2 of the lone Test between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today. Bangladesh managed to score 25 for one after bundling out Zimbabwe for 265 early in the session. Saif Hassan was the only one to fall when he edged a Victor Nyauchi delivery to the wicketkeeper in the fourth over. Tamim Iqbal remains unbeaten on 10 off 25 balls while Nazmul Hossain scores five not out off 12 deliveries before lunch.
Tigers lose Saif early

Saif Hasan who was stuck in the crease, hung his bat out to an oustide off delivery that held its line as the right-hander got a thick edge off his bat. Wicketkeeper takes an easy catch. Nyauchi strikes early as Bangladesh lose their first wicket.
Taijul gets two; Zimbabwe all out for 265

A tossed up ball from Taijul Islam and Chakabva goes for a big one but only ends up giving an easy catch to Nayeem Hasan at midwicket. Taijul, who remained wicketless on Day 1, scalps two today as Zimbabwe are all out for 265 in their first innings.

Taijul Islam joins the party. This one landed straight and went on with the arm. Struck the bastman on his pads and Taijul gets his first wicket in this Test.

Ndlovu goes for a flick and completely missed the ball. The ball, pitching on the middle stump, hits front pad of the right-hander. A huge appeal from Bangladesh and umpire raises his finger. Abu Jayed strikes again.

Abu Jayed gets the reward for some excellent bowling this morning. With the slightly overcast condition here at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Jayed was able to get the ball to move away from the batsmen. This ball, pitched on the off stump, was full and moved away from the right-hander after drawing him to play at it as it induced a thick edge off the bat. An easy catch taken by taken by the wicketkeeper.
