Mushfiqur century guides Abahani

Mushfiqur Rahim scored 127 as Abahani recovered from a dicey start to post 289 for seven against Partex in their opening match of the Dhaka Premier League at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today. 

The wicketkeeper batsman came to the crease in the second over after openers Liton Das and Naim Sheikh were dismissed without scoring. The 32-year-old lost partners but held up one end before finding Mosaddek Hossain as company.

The two added 160 runs for the sixth wicket. Mushfiqur, who was captaining Abahani in his debut season for the club, departed for 126 off 124 balls, his innings featuring 11 fours and four sixes. 

Mosaddek's 74-ball 61 and a cameo of 39 runs off just 15 balls from Mohammad Saifuddin eventually helped Abahani post 289.
