30 shops gutted in Gazipur market fire

At least 30 shops were gutted in a fire that broke out at a market in Kapasia upazila of Gazipur this noon.

The fire might have originated at a mattress shop of Tokbazar market from an electric short circuit, reports our Gazipur correspondent quoting Mizanur Rahman, sub-inspector (SI) of Kapasia Police Station.

Informed by locals, three firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 2:15pm.
