‘Clash over coronavirus’: One dead in Rajbari
One died and five were injured in Rajbari Sadar upazila this morning in a clash over coronavirus between two groups.
The deceased was identified as Lablu Molla, son of Okhil Uddin Molla of Bhabadia village of the upazila, reports our Faridpur correspondent quoting Swapan Kumar Majumdar, officer-in-charge of Rajbari Sadar Police Station.
An altercation broke out between village quack Abdul Khalek and the deceased's brother Abdul Mannan around 6:45am over whether one of the villagers died from coronavirus or not, the OC said.
Soon, their families joined in the squabble and a clash ensued in which Lablu got seriously injured, the OC said quoting witnesses.
Lablu was rushed to Rajbari Sadar Hospital where he died around 8am. Five others were also injured in the incident, he added.
Police have arrested five so far in connection with the incident.
