The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources instructed people to pay the bills for the months of February, March and April in May. The late fines will also be waived for the three months.  

Similarly, gas bills of four months -- February, March, April and May -- can be paid in June without incurring any extra charges.

The decision was taken in a bid to curb coronavirus spread in the country, two ministry circulars read.

The ministry issued the two separate circulars where it instructed people not to gather at the banks to pay the bills.
