“She really inspired me”—Rafiath Rashid Mithila
Rafiath Rashid Mithila is a celebrated actor and singer. Besides working in the media, she is the Head of the Early Childhood Development Programme at BRAC International. In a candid conversation with The Daily Star, the artiste shares her favourite memory with a fan.
Throughout my media career, I have gained mostly female fans, which is amazing. To be honest, I am not really into actively interacting with fans. However, there is one incident that has stayed with me over time.
A couple of years ago, I attended a talk, where I spoke about overcoming the darkest days of my life. The video of my talk went viral on social media. After a few days, I received a message from a girl, on my Facebook page. She had gone through a lot of hardships in her life. It made me think that perhaps, she had gone through more critical circumstances in her life than I did. She told me in the message that the things I said during my talk gave her strength to fight her battles. She was depressed and had suicidal tendencies, but thankfully, she was in recovery. Her story made me proud and emotional. She told me that I inspired her. But the fact is, she really inspired me.
