14 shops gutted in Cox’s Bazar Rohingya camp
At least 14 tin-roofed shops were gutted at Kutupalang Rohingya refugee camp in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar early today.
The fire began around 4:00am when people in the community were having their Sheri, our Cox's Bazar correspondent reports, quoting Mohammad Emdadul Haque, station officer of Ukhia Fire Service.
Informed, fire fighters immediately rushed to the spot and doused the blaze, he said.
"We are trying to figure out the cause behind the fire," the fire official said.
The gutted shops belonged to residents of the Rohingya camp, he said, adding that the damage caused by the fire could not be estimated yet.
