2 BGB men killed, 4 others injured in road crash in Rajshahi
Two members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were killed and four others injured in a road accident on the Chapainawabganj-Dhaka highway in Rajshahi's Godagari upazila yesterday morning.
The victims -- Jubayer Hossain (34) and Abu Sayeed (35) -- were Lance Naik of 53 BGB Battalion in Chapainawabganj, reports our Rajshahi correspondent, quoting Sub Inspector Abdul Khaleq of Godagari Police Station.
The accident took place near Godagari Government College at 7:45am, when a Chapainawabganj bound garments truck collided with a Rajshahi bound BGB truck, said Lieutenant Colonel Mahamudul Hasan, captain of 59 Battalion of BGB.
Jubayer died on the spot while Sayeed -- along with four others -- received injuries, the SI said. The injured BGB men were taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where critically injured Sayeed succumbed to his injuries, he added.
The BGB truck was carrying around 22 members of the paramilitary force, bound for a training course in Rajshahi, he added.
