Gabtoli bus stand traffic jam-free by Dec 30: Annisul

Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq today pledged to rid traffic congestion in the Gabtoli bus terminal area by December 30.

He made the promise while speaking to reporters following talks with leaders and workers of bus association, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

The transport workers and leaders said to have promised him to clear the front side of the bus terminal by December 29, according to the report.

Meanwhile, Imtiaz Ahmed, deputy commissioner (traffic) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said that they will conduct drive from January 1 to free the area from traffic congestion.

Annisul’s last eviction drive ended up in violence when city corporation went to evict the illegal occupation of truckers in Tejgaon area.
