Modi manages his own Facebook, Twitter accounts
Having one of the most demanding jobs in the country doesn't stop Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi from managing his social media accounts on his own.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) revealed this in a reply to queries filed via RTI application, reports the Times Of India.
The PMO, in reply to queries on salaries of officials who manage Modi’s Facebook and Twitter accounts and their level of engagement with him, said "no particular officer maintains them and that his accounts are updated as per information from various officials" according to a report in financial daily Business Standard, quoted the Times Of India.
However, in reply to another question on who assists the PM send tweets in foreign languages when he is on travel, the PMO only shared that it is provided with teleprompting assistance by the information and broadcasting ministry.
With 16.8 million followers in popular microblogging site Twitter, the Prime Minister is third in the list of the most followed Twitter personalities from India, close to Shah Rukh Khan who is at number two with 16.9 million followers while Amitabh Bachchan's @SrBachchan account remains the most followed one with 18.1 million followers, according to the 'Year On Twitter 2015' report.
Modi is the only non-Bollywood personality to have managed to stay in the top ten list.
The ‘Selfie With Daughter’ campaign PM Modi launched on Twitter to promote rights of girl child became one of the most popular hashtags with over 3,75,000 #SelfieWithDaughter tweets.
There were over 1,79,000 "#SaalEkShuruaatAnek" tweets on his first year anniversary in office.
