EC very kind to BNP, says Hanif
Ruling Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif today said BNP took additional benefits in conducting campaigns for municipality polls.
He also urged the Election Commission to play an impartial role during the municipality polls to be held tomorrow.
Hanif, who headed a four-member AL delegation, was talking to reporters after a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad at the EC Secretariat this afternoon.
"The Election Commission is being sympathetic to BNP and unkind to AL, and BNP is taking the benefits of the sympathy in conducting its election campaigns,” he said.
“So, we have requested the chief election commissioner to be impartial in holding the municipality polls," Hanif further said.
"The Election Commission will take action against rule violators after conducting proper investigation into the allegations against them."
“The overall law and order situation at grassroots level is good so we expect the polls will be held in a free and fair manner,” he added.
