ACC allowed to interrogate Regent Hospital Chairman Shahed
A Dhaka court today allowed the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to interrogate Regent Hospital Chairman Mohammad Shahed at the jail gate to gather information about the crores of taka amassed by issuing fake Covid-19 results.
Judge KM Emrul Kayesh of the Senior Special Judge's Court of Dhaka passed the order after Sheikh Md Fanafilya, a director of ACC, submitted a petition to the court.
In the petition, Fanafilya said Shahed had earned a huge amount of money through issuing fake Covid-19 results and charging the patients.
Shahed evaded income tax and took a large loans from different banks issuing fake name and he embezzled the money, so Shahed needed to be interrogated.
On July 27, the ACC filed the case against Shahed and three others with its Integrated District Office-1 of Dhaka for embezzling Tk 2.71 crore in 2015.
