Tk 22cr embezzlement: Dhaka Bank vice president Aminul denied bail
The High Court today refused bail to Dhaka Bank's Dhanmondi branch Vice President Md Aminul Islam in a corruption case filed for misappropriating Tk 22 crore.
The court, however also issued a rule asking the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and government to explain in three weeks why accused Aminul should not be granted bail in the case.
The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Ahmed Sohel issued the rule after hearing on a bail petition filed by Aminul.
Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik told The Daily Star that Aminul cannot get released from jail following the HC order.
The ACC filed the case with Dhanmondi Police Station on December 23, 2018 against Aminul and six others on change of misappropriating Tk 22 crore from the bank by submitting fake export bills.
